COLONIE — Not everyone was upset with the inches of ice that coated the Capital District from Thursday, Feb. 3 to Friday Feb. 4.
As proof of that point, the hill at Sand Creek Middle School was hopping over the weekend.
Plow crews struggled to get the roads clear, schools and events were cancelled and many found it impossible to shovel the ice off driveways and just left it until the weather decides to cooperate.
But the hill at Sand Creek was running fast and, with the right snow pants, a sled wasn’t even necessary.
The National Weather Service says it will be in the mid to upper 30s today, Wednesday, Feb. 9, will hit 40-plus on Thursday, mid 30s on Friday and is again expected to hit 40 with a chance of rain on Saturday before the expected high to dip back below 30 on Sunday.
