MENANDS — New York State Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for motorists who use Broadway in Menands.

A paving and sidewalk project will reduce travel to one lane in each direction over a half-mile stretch of Broadway between the Price Chopper Plaza and First Street through November. The road surface will be milled and repaved, and handicap accessible sidewalks will be installed, as well as new curbs and improved drainage.

The work begins on the northbound side before switching to the southbound side. Businesses along Broadway will remain accessible during the project. Motorists are reminded that speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
