CAPITAL DISTRICT — Area Class AA basketball teams received their playoff match-ups when the Section 2 Class AA brackets were announced Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The top four seeds on the boys’ side are Shenendehowa, Guilderland, Green Tech and Christian Brothers Academy. On the girls’ side, the top four seeds are Shen, Bethlehem, Albany and Shaker.
Here are the opening round playoff match-ups for Class AA, which take place Tuesday, Feb. 16:

Shen, Guilderland and Green Tech received opening round byes. Shen meets the winner of Schenectady-LaSalle Saturday, Feb. 20, at Hudson Valley Community College, while Guilderland plays either Saratoga or Albany. Green Tech gets the winner of Shaker-Niskayuna in another quarterfinal contest, and the winners of Bethlehem-Colonie and Catholic Central-CBA meet each other in the second round.
The top five seeds on the girls’ side all received byes, with Shen and Bethlehem serving as the host schools for the quarterfinal round Monday, Feb. 22. Shen hosts the winner of Guilderland-Catholic Central, while Bethlehem meets the winner of Ballston Spa-Columbia in Delmar. The other quarterfinal games pit Albany against either Niskayuna or Saratoga at Bethlehem, and Shaker meeting crosstown rival Colonie at Shen.
