ALBANY COUNTY Guilderland won for the fourth time in its last six games by rallying for a 59-50 victory over Columbia in a Suburban Council girls basketball game Friday, Feb. 5.
The Lady Dutch outscored the Blue Devils 25-13 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory and improve their league record to 6-9 (6-12 overall).
Olivia Bauman netted 24 points, Megan Dunn contributed 14 points and Skye Lindsay added 13 points for Guilderland. Grace Heeps paced Columbia with 16 points, and Selena Lott chipped in with 10 points.
Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Bethlehem closed the game on a 16-6 run to defeat Colonie 49-45. Jenna Giacone had 19 points, and Emily Wander added 10 points for the Lady Eagles (13-2, 16-3).
Erin Fouracre and Aliyah Wright each scored 13 points, and Alivia Paeglow contributed 12 points for Colonie (8-7, 10-9).
Shaker went on a 24-9 run in the second quarter on its way to a 61-43 victory over Saratoga Springs.
Shyla Sanford drained six three-pointers on her way to a 25-point night for the Blue Bison (12-3, 15-4). Sierra “CeCe” Mayo contributed 13 points.
Catherine Cairns had 16 points for Saratoga Springs (9-7, 12-7).
Voorheesville doubled up Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 52-26 in a Colonial Council game.
Rachel Blow led a balanced Voorheesville attack with 14 points. The Blackbirds improved their league record to 13-3 (13-5 overall), while Ravena dropped to 3-11 (4-13).
Catholic Central built a 55-24 lead and cruised to a 64-35 victory over Watervliet. Abby Fountain poured in 20 points for the Crusaders (14-1, 15-4).
Ali Changa led the Cannoneers (6-9, 7-11) with 15 points, and Meghan Murray added 12 points.
