The Colonie boys basketball team rallied from an early deficit to defeat Mohonasen 51-43 in Tuesday’s Suburban Council South Division game.
Jake Samuels had a double-double for the Garnet Raiders (6-6 league, 7-7 overall) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Nicholson contributed 12 points.
Grant Massaroni netted 17 points for Mohonasen (2-10, 3-11), which led 11-7 after the first quarter.
In another Suburban Council South Division game, Bethlehem (10-2, 12-2) out-scored Averill Park 42-21 in the second and third quarters to defeat the Warriors 69-46 in Delmar.
Connor Morelli scored 20 points for the Eagles. John Sica contributed 17 points, and Joe Giacone added 10 points.
In the Central Hudson Valley League, Loudonville Christian School went on a 16-4 run in the second quarter to put away Heatly 60-40 Tuesday.
James Hilton led three Eagles in double figures with 19 points. Mat Yamin chipped in with 18 points, and Gabe Brown added 15 points.
Girls basketball
The Shaker girls basketball team jumped out to a 20-1 lead and cruised to a 65-30 Suburban Council victory over Ballston Spa Tuesday.
Madison Rowland scored 17 points, and Jenny Barra added 11 points for the Blue Bison (11-1, 13-1). Paige Gallo netted 11 points for the Scotties (0-12, 1-13).
Wrestling
Shenendehowa recorded three pins and three technical falls in Tuesday’s 56-12 Suburban Council wrestling victory over Averill Park.
Nick Kelley (138 pounds), Ali Hashimee (170) and Jacob Brooks (285) had Shen’s pins. Dietrich Hartman (99), David Almaviva (145) and Zach Joseph (152) recorded technical falls.
Boys swimming
Niskayuna pulled away for a 108-78 Suburban Council victory over Bethlehem in Tuesday’s boys swim meet.
Clark Davis won the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke to lead the Silver Warriors. Evan Melby (200-yard freestyle), Orion Whitney (200 individual medley), Emerson Wells (500 freestyle) and James Chalermkraivuth (100 breastrstroke) also picked up individual victories.
Gunnar Zemering led Bethlehem with victories in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. James Starr contributed a win in diving.
