GUILDERLAND — The Dutchmen started out the Class A boys lacrosse post season in convincing fashion by beating Colonie 20-2 on Tuesday, May 24.
Guilderland, the No. 2 seed, will play the No. 3 seed from Shaker on Friday in the semifinals. Top seeded Shenendehowa will play the No. 4 seed from Bethlehem in the other semifinal game. To get to the semis, Shen got a bye, Bethlehem beat Saratoga and Shaker beat CBA.
Against Colonie, the No. 7 seed, Tom Tyksinski and Quinn Orsini had five goals each while Michael Scuzzarella had three goals and two assists and Dan Macchiarella had three goals and an assist. Ben Ford and Cooper McConaghy had a goal and two assists each.
Joe Baranowski and Dave Truax scored for Colonie.
In goal Rob Adams had 13 saves for Colonie and Tyler Fung had eight for the Dutch.
Guilderland will host Shaker at 5 p.m. on Friday with the finals slated for Wednesday, June 1 at Shaker.
