TROY — Voorheesville lost a thriller to Schalmont in the Class B Section II semifinals by a score of 6-4 in overtime.

The No. 3 Blackbirds sent the game into overtime with 5.8 seconds left on a goal by Megan Romansky and the team and crowd went into a frenzy. But, the No. 2 seed Schalmont dominated the next 20 minutes and will now square off against No. 1 seed Holy Names for the championship.

Amanda Gillenwaters and Kaelyn Lawson each had a goal and an assist for Voorheesville while Jayden Kelley added a goal.

Sofia Cassano and Vanessa Wainright each had two goals to lead Schalmont while Ashley Cirilla and Jules Monlea each had a goal. Davia Rossi had three assists in the win.

Leah Weber had six saves for Voorheesville and her counterpart, Eden Messemer, had 15.

Schalmont and Holy Names will play on Friday, Oct. 26, at Stillwater. Game starts at 5:30 p.m.
