COLONIE – CBA demonstrated, in convincing fashion, why it is the No. 1 seed in Section II Class AA tournament this year by beating the formidable Shaker squad 4-1 on Friday, Oct. 26.
Ten minutes into the game at a packed Colonie High School, Sumahri Stewart got CBA on the board first with an assist by Jordan Proulx.
With 10:55 remaining in the half, mark Wyatt Leto scored to give CBA a 2-0 heading into halftime.
Brady Van Epps scored in the 59th Minute on an assist by Dylan Bogdon to essentially put the game out of reach and with six minutes left Michael Puccioni found the back of the net.
CBA and Shaker, the No. 5 seed who made it to the semifinals by winning a thriller against No. 4 seed Shen, tied 3-3 a matchup earlier this season.
Keeper Keegan Flaherty had four saves for Shaker while Nate Foster had an equal amount for Shaker.
CBA will now play No. 7 seed Niskayuna for the Class AA championship at Colonie High School on Tuesday. Game is set for 7 p.m. It was delayed a day because of the rain on Saturday.
