COLONIE — After 80 minutes, and two 15-minutes of overtime, it came down to penalty kicks in the Section II Class AA semifinals.
And the No. 3 seed Bethlehem squad came up just short against No. 7 seed Niskayuna in front of a capacity crowd at Colonie High School.
Niskayuna goalie Jimmy Joyce stopped one Bethlehem penalty kick, and that was all it took. The two Suburban Council rivals met last month and Bethlehem came away with a 1-0 win in overtime.
Bethlehem made it to the semis by getting a first round bye then beating Saratoga 4-3.
Nisky will square off against the No. 1 seed CBA on Tuesday at Colonie High School for the championship. The game is slated to start at 7 p.m.
