Two men have been taken into custody by Bethlehem police and charged with two separate armed robberies that occurred inside the bathroom of the Glenmont Wal-Mart.
David Hinkle, 28, of Schenectady, and Thomas Bryant, 25, of Rensselaer, are charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Police report that two separate male victims entered the Wal-Mart restroom on Wednesday evening, Oct. 10, shortly before 10 p.m. and were each asked if they wanted to purchase marijuana. One of the two men charged then allegedly took a knife out and held it to the victims’ necks. The victims were robbed of whatever cash they had in their pockets. Hinkle and Bryant were apprehended a short time later by Bethlehem police in the parking lot and were taken into custody.
The two were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and sent to Albany County jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Oct. 17.
