Felony DWI and assault on Columbia Street Ext
COHOES – A Cohoes man with a history of DWI was arrested and charged with felony DWI and assault against a police officer on Monday, Nov. 27 on Columbia Street Extension in Colonie.
According to reports, Antonios Anastahas, 33, was observed by officers violating multiple traffic laws and conducted a vehicle stop.
Upon interviewing Anastahas, officers observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, he had glassy and bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. According to reports, he was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests and became irate towards the officers and resisted arrest. Anastahas complained about having shortness of breath and requested EMS. He was transported to Samaritan Hospital and was admitted for a pre-existing condition. He also had a prior alcohol-related offense in the last 10 years.
Anastahas was charged with felony DWI and felony assault – with intent to cause injury to a police officer, and resisting arrest and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, both misdemeanors, and ticketed with various traffic infractions.
He was released with an appearance ticket.
Aggravated DWI on Wolf Road
COLONIE – Colonie police stopped a vehicle near the corner of Marcus Boulevard and Wolf Road on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at approximately 7:53 p.m. for traffic violations and found the driver to be very drunk.
According to reports, the driver, a 50-year-old man from Loudonville, did not stop before entering the road. Upon interviewing the driver, officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was given and failed field sobriety tests and tested positive for breath alcohol on a pre-screening device.
At the police station he provided a breath sample that was at least .18 percent BAC. The man was charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for the violation.
He was released with an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court.
Warrant
COLONIE – A homeless man was the subject of a call for service by Colonie police on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and was found to be wanted by Colonie Town Court.
Mame Toure, 25, did not show up for an October court date. He was processed and issued another appearance ticket.
Burglary and warrant at Macy’s
COLONIE – Loss prevention employees from Macy’s called Colonie police on Friday, Nov. 24 for a larceny in progress at the store.
According to reports, officers took Tanya Mackley, 42, of Schenectady, into custody and she was charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny. It was also found she was wanted by the Colonie Town Court for not showing up in December 2022.
Mackley was sent to the Albany County jail as a pre-arraignment detainee. While there, she was involved in an altercation with correctional officers and contacted Colonie police to request EMS for her injuries.
Mackley was given an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on December 13.
Multiple warrants at Stewarts
COLONIE – Colonie police responded to Stewarts on Fuller Road on Saturday, Nov. 25 for a person-annoying call and found Michael Kabler, 50, who is homeless, a short distance from the store. An investigation found that Kabler had two outstanding warrants with the Town of Colonie for not showing up to court in October and again in November.
He was arraigned.
Burglary, warrant and drugs at Macy’s
COLONIE – On Sunday, Nov. 26, Colonie police responded to Macy’s at Colonie Center for the report of a larceny. According to reports, when officers checked the identity of Mindy Vezeau, 36, who is homeless, they found she had an outstanding warrant from Colonie Town Court from October 2022. A search also revealed she had drug paraphernalia on her person.
She was charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny and crminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
She was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Andrew Sommers.
False personation and warrant
COLONIE – Colonie police stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 2:04 a.m. and found that one of the passengers was wanted for not showing up for court.
Sabrina Farrell, 26, of Schenectady, also gave officers a fake name.
She was charged with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, and processed on the warrant. Farrell was sent to the Albany County jail as a pre arraignment detainee.
Probation violation and warrant
COLONIE – A 22-year-old Albany man was taken into custody by Colonie police on Monday, Nov. 27 at the Albany County Probation Department for a probation violation and also on an outstanding warrant from Colonie Town Court.
Dwayne Maxwell was arraigned by Colonie Judge David Green.
Grand larceny at Price Chopper
SCHENECTADY – A Schenectady woman was taken into custody on Monday, Nov. 27 for an arrest warrant issued after an incident at Price Chopper in Latham in December 2021.
Starkiesha Rabinovich, 44, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, and arraigned.
Warrant
BALLSTON SPA – Colonie police traveled to the Saratoga County jail on Monday, Nov. 27 to pick up Stacey Mason-Oglesby, 50, of Troy, for an outstanding warrant.
She failed to appear in court in June. She was arraigned by Colonie Judge Andrew Sommers.
Warrant and warrant
COLONIE – State Police turned Christian Markus, 31, over to Colonie police on Monday, Nov. 27 for an outstanding warrant for not showing up for court in October.
On November 22, Bethlehem police received a call from a contractor working on a house on Orchard Street in Delmar reporting that the door to the building was damaged.
According to reports, a person attempted to gain entry to the house and damaged the deadbolt and door knob, but the locks held.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Markus, of Schenectady, allegedly called a neighbor of the property to ask the status of the construction and indicated that he was going to be moving into the house when it was finished.
While interviewing Markus on another case, he allegedly admitted to the damage to the door. He was charged with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. He was given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem town court on December 19.
On the Colonie charge he was sent back to the Albany County jail.
Warrant
BALLSTON SPA – Deputies produced Keith Kulsha, 37, of Schenectady, on Monday, Nov. 27 at Colonie police for an outstanding warrant. He was processed and arraigned by Colonie Judge Andrew Sommers and sent back to the Saratoga County jail.
Wrong way on round about while drinking
LOUDONVILLE – Colonie police observed a vehicle go the wrong direction around the roundabout on Albany Shaker Road on Monday, Nov. 27 at 2:26 a.m. and performed a traffic stop.
According to reports, officers gave a 53-year-old Loudonville man field sobriety tests, which he failed and tested positive for breath alcohol on a pre-screening device.
He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for on-way violation, failure to stay in a single lane, leaving the scene of an accident and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.
The man was evaluated by Colonie EMS at the police station and he was transported to Albany Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The man was given an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on December 11.
