COLONIE – Two Schenectady men were sentenced in connection with a fatal 2021 shooting at the Motel 6 on Curry Road. A third will be sentenced later this month.
Paul Streeks, 25, was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. On August 15, Streeeks pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter in the first degree, a class B violent felony, before the Hon. Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court.
That plea fully satisfies the initial indictment, which included one count of murder in the first degree, two counts of murder in the second degree, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

The indictment alleged that on or about May 11, in the area of 2700 Curry Road in the Town of Colonie, Streeks caused the death of Xiaa Price, by shooting him with a firearm.
A co-defendant, Kenneth Spencer, 46, also pleaded guilty to one count of attempted assault in the first degree, a class C violent felony, in connection with the same incident, before the Hon. Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court on August 15. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison today, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

A third co-defendant, Desirique Johnson, 23, also pleaded guilty on August 16 guilty plea to one count of attempted assault in the first degree, a class C violent felony, before the Hon. Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court.
Johnson admitted that on or about May 11, in the area of 2700 Curry Road in the Town of Colonie, while acting in concert with others, he attempted to assault Xiaa Price.
His sentencing is scheduled for November 18 when he faces 5 years in state prison.
