COLONIE – Because the basketball teams are playing in the sectionals, the Saturday, March 3, showing of “Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story” at the high school is postponed until Friday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m.
The one night only show, an award-winning documentary, is sponsored by the school’s iCARE and STEM clubs.
“Bombshell” brings to light the story of an unusual and accomplished woman.
It weaves interviews and clips with never-before-heard audio tapes of Lamarr speaking on the record about her life — from her beginnings as an Austrian Jewish emigre to her scandalous nude scene in the 1933 film “Ecstasy” to her glittering Hollywood life to her ground-breaking, but completely uncredited inventions to her latter years when she became a recluse, impoverished and almost forgotten.
General admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance through evenbrite.com. Door open at 6 p.m. and there will be concessions for sale. Run time is 100 minutes.
