To the Editor,
What under Public Meeting Law precludes Bethlehem Central from disclosing its “secret” reason to pause its Lab School? There are provisions that clearly state plausible reasons to keep information from the public. I am unable to interpret what would keep school board members from sharing such details on a program funded by the community for two or three generations.
Personally, I am not a fan of Lab School. I believe a public school should offer the same quality of education to all of its students. Nonetheless, for the school board to hold back information from the community as “secret” or “confidential” they are neglecting their roles as our advocates.
Go to Open Meeting Law and point to the specific provision you are invoking when you choose to keep information from the public.
