SPOTTED: The Dog Days of winter at the dog parks
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Anyone who has a dog knows a happy dog is a tired dog. And any dog owner is happier when the dog is tired.

One of the best ways to tire out a dog, and help them learn to socialize and get along with people and other dogs is a dog park. Dogs can tire out other dogs like no human can.

There are a number of dog parks in the area, most sponsored and maintained by municipalities, and generally require a permit for owners to bring their dogs to romp and play or chase a ball around in a confined space off leash.

The shots below are taken in Bethlehem, Latham and Niskayuna. There are a bunch of the crazed-looking husky mix because the photographer got him at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in May and he just doesn’t look crazed. But, he is a good boy … after he takes the edge off at the dog park.
