SPOTTED: Bethlehem Central High School Graduation, June 27, 2019

ALBANY — Bethlehem Central High School celebrated its 85th commencement on Thursday, June 27 at the Times Union Center. The Class of 2019 crossed the stage and received their diplomas, symbolizing the shift into the next step of their lives.
Principal David Doemel addressed the class, speaking on success, community and confidence. He asked the nearly 400 graduates to “be the change” as they move on after high school.
Senior Connor Chung opened the ceremony by bringing in an old “Oriole” yearbook, and looked back on Bethlehem’s history in order to reflect on the class’ last four years. Olivia Namkoong also addressed the class, telling them to “be the protagonist of your own story.” The final student speaker, Grace Meredith, urged her fellow graduates and the audience to “reinvent” themselves to become better people. Each speech demonstrated the intelligence, poise and humor of a gifted graduating class.
