NISKAYUNA — Robert Irvine, the chef whose more famous for wielding a sledgehammer on Restaurant: Impossible, is coming to town.
Restaurant: Impossible is coming to LT’s Grill in Niskayuna on Wednesday and Thursday, July 10 and 11, and is reaching out for volunteers.
The popular Food Network series visits America’s most desperate restaurants and saves them from impending failure in just two days with only $10,000.
Irvine and his crew assess the restaurant, its staff and the menu before ultimately tearing down walls, cutting down menus and producing a fear tears along the way.
The show is seeking volunteers to help with the manual labor of rebuilding the restaurant. Volunteers may be painting, crafting, constructing, remodeling, cleaning or decorating, depending on skill. Professionals, such as contractors, electricians, plumbers, upholsters’ and painters, are welcome to help and donate their time.
The volunteer schedule is as follows:
Shift #1 – Wednesday, July 10: Noon to 7 p.m.
Shift #2 – Wednesday, July 10: 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Shift #3 – Thursday, July 11: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This is a volunteer position, however meals will be provided. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
All volunteers must sign an appearance release on site.

Do so by noon with preferred shift, full name, email address, cell number and skill set or related profession. Anyone who replies to volunteer is guaranteed a spot. Confirmation emails will be sent the day before each shift.
Volunteers will work under a tight deadline in order to reopen the restaurant by 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.
Those who wish to reserve a table at the newly renovated LT’s Grill should submit a reservation requestion with the subject line 1507 LT RESERVATIONS at [email protected] by noon on Friday, July 5. Reservations will be grated on a first-come first-serve basis.
Restaurant: Impossible was last in upstate New York to renovate the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne for a special holiday episode in 2014.
