ALBANY COUNTY The Shaker boys swim team defeated Albany 100-76 in a Suburban Council meet Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Will Matz won the 100-yard butterfly and 100 freestyle in back-to-back races to lead the Blue Bison. Frank Miao (200-yard freestyle), Ian McElrath (200 individual medley), George Enright (50 freestyle), Xavier Hults (diving) and Steven Yu (500 freestyle) also won individual events.
Sedric Tello (100-yard backstroke) and Barak Binyamin (100 breaststroke) were credited with victories for Albany.
Elsewhere, Bethlehem defeated Schenectady 95-82 in a league meet. Juneau Wang (200-yard freestyle), Brendan Cartwright (50 freestyle), Chris Redmond (diving), Ben Goodrich (100 butterfly) and Jacob Rosenblum (500 freestyle) had individual victories for the Eagles.
Calvin Cleworth took first place in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 backstroke for Schenectady. Maxwell Bent (100-yard freestyle) and Colin Kennedy (100 breaststroke) also earned wins.
