Shaker scored the final 27 points of the evening to defeat Christian Brothers Academy 34-7 Friday, Sept. 4, in a Class AA crossover game.
Following Dom Savona’s 25-yard field goal in the first quarter that cut Shaker’s lead to 7-3, the Blue Bison (1-0) scored twice in the second quarter to pull away for good. Junior quarterback Wahid Nabi ran for a 2-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, and he threw a 22-yard scoring strike to Paul Kessler to put Shaker ahead 20-3 at halftime.
Ryan Duda contributed a 7-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Andrew Bolton added a 6-yard scoring scamper in the fourth quarter for Shaker. Bolton led a balanced running game with 60 rushing yards, and Ronel Forde chipped in with 52 yards and the opening touchdown of the evening.
Shaker visits Shenendehowa Friday, Sept. 11, while CBA hosts LaSalle.
