The battle for Suburban Council North Division supremacy will go to the final regular season game.
Shaker scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull out a 1-0 victory over Shenendehowa in Wednesday’s showdown between the top two North Division baseball teams.
Shaker pitcher Chad Sinko tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts, and he got the run he needed when Garrett Klahr scored from second base on a throwing error. Klahr and Ben Cassillo each had two singles for the Blue Bison (11-4 league, 13-5 overall).
Aaron Kalish pitched a six-hitter with six strikeouts for Shen (12-3, 15-3), which could have clinched the division title with a victory. Justin Yurchak had one of the Plainsmen’s four hits with a double.
Shaker travels to Niskayuna Thursday for its final Suburban Council game of the season, while Shen hosts Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.
