LATHAM — The Shaker girls lacrosse team got off to a solid start with a 20-2 win over Albany on Monday, May 23, in the Class A quarterfinals.
Shaker, the No. 2 seed, will take on No 3 seed Shenendehowa on Wednesday in the semis. In the other bracket, Bethlehem, the No. 1 seed, will play No. 4 seed Saratoga, who got by Colonie, the No. 5 seed, in the quarterfinals.
Shaker had no problems with Albany, the No. 7 seed.
Jenna Pollicino had three goals and five assists to lead the Bison while Sarah Bette had three goals and an assist and Lindsey McCulloch had two goals and two assists. Olivia Papa had two goals and an assist, Sydney Cody had had three goals, Davin Testo had two goals, Katie Field and Ava Scattareggia each had a goal and two assists, Jamie Martino had two assists, Lauren O’Hagan had a goal and an assist, Lily luper and Sydney Wells each had a goal and Micaela Tahoe and Olivia McCabe each had an assist.
Leah John and Live Nevo each had a goal for Albany.
In goal, Albany goalies Quayvianna Timmos and Zoe Grasina had a combined 17 saves and for Shaker Emily Bette had five saves and Victoria Bender had two.
Shaker will host Shen with the game slated to begin at 4:15. The finals are slated for Friday, May 27, at CBA.
