GLENS FALLS — The Brothers made it to the finals but couldn’t get by a solid squad from Green Tech High School.
Christian Brothers Academy was only down two after the first but was outscored by 11 in the second and eight in the third. The Brothers made a run in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late and Green Tech won the Section II, Class AA championship by a score of 63-54 at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls on Saturday, March 5.
The No. 3 seed Brothers got to the finals by beating Columbia, Ballston Spa and LaSalle. Green Tech, the No. 1 seed, had a bye before beating Bethlehem and Albany.
David Clement had 16 to lead CBA while Matt Sgambati had 14 and Ayden Harrison and Lenny Buddington had 10 each.
Green Tech standout senior Dayshaun Walton led all scorers with 23 while Zaveon Little had 18.
