CLIFTON PARK — Colonie lost a thriller at the buzzer to Shenendehowa 42-41 on Friday, Jan. 10, in a matchup of two top teams in the competitive Suburban Council Blue Division.
The Garnet Raiders took a one-point lead with under a minute left on a three pointer by Victor Pharr.
Colonie had a three point lead with 11 seconds left but Shen’s Andrew Martin was fouled with three second left and hit the front end of a one and one and missed the second on purpose. Shen had the ball out of bound and Martin fed Jake Reinisch who hit a long three from well outside the arc with no time on the clock for the win.
Pharr had 12 pints to lead Colonie and Devin Dzikas had 13 for Shen.
Colonie moves to 5-2 in the Suburban Council with its other loss coming at the hands of Troy. Shen is at 6-0, a game ahead of Bethlehem, who beat Columbia on Friday to go to 6-0 in the conference.
Colonie will travel to Guilderland on Friday, Jan, 17.
