SPOTTED: Voorheesville girls beat Bolton-Warrensburg; will play Schoharie in semis

VOORHEESVILLE — The Blackbirds beat Bolton-Warrensburg 4-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and are in the Section II, Class C semifinals.

Four Blackbirds scored for Voorheesville: Amanda Gillenwalters, Emma Farrell, Kaelyn Lawson and Jenny Bogart. Gillenwalters, Farrell and Renee Bogdany picked up an assist each.

Maggie Thayer had four saves for Voorheesville, and Jordan Barker had 13 for BW, the No. 7 seed.

Voorheesville, the No. 2, seed crushed the No. 18 seed Berne Knox 13-0 in the opening round.  It will play the No. 3 seed Schoharie on Monday, Nov. 4 at Mechanicville High School in the semifinals. The game is set for 4:30 p.m.

The other semifinal game will feature No. 1 seed Stillwater against No. 4 seed Lake George. That game follows the Voorheesville game at Mechanicville with the finals set for Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Mechanicville.
