COLONIE – Siena College played host to the New York State Special Olympics Summer Games on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16.
More than 1,500 athletes from across the state competed in a number of events at venues throughout the Capital District – Siena College, Shaker High School, Hudson Valley Community College, Boulevard Bowl and others.
Athletes train for a minimum of eight weeks and then participate in local, regional and state competitions. Athletic competitions included track and field, bowling, aquatics, tennis, powerlifting, basketball, gymnastics and volleyball.
