GUILDERLAND—Shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon, Tuesday, June 19, a bear was spotted on the grounds of Farnsworth Middle School. All outside classes were immediately brought inside and a lockout was initiated. According to the district, no students were ever in danger.
The Guilderland Police Department and the Department of Environmental Conservation were contacted and the lockout remained in place for the rest of the day. GPD is on hand to provide additional support during today’s dismissal.
