BETHLEHEM – The Eagles won a Suburban Council matchup at home on Tuesday, Dec. 5, by going on 10-2 run in the final two minutes to beat Mohonasen 73-65.
Bethlehem led the entire game, and at one point by as many as 10, but Mohonasen wouldn’t go away and tied it up with 2:32 left on the clock.
The Eagles, though, hit 10 for 13 from the line in the fourth quarter to help put the Warriors away.
Bethlehem had five players in double digits, and were led by junior standout Michael Ortale had 17 points, including five three pointers. Erik Salo had 14 points and Patrick Ryan had 13, including four threes. Jake and Braden LaClair had a dozen each and together went seven for eight from the line in the fourth quarter.
Will Davis had three points and Eric Signor had two to round out the scoring for Bethlehem.
The Warriors had two with 21 points to lead all scorers – Duncan Tallman and Jalani Abdul-Aziz. Gregory VanEpps chipped in a dozen and Chase Monroe had eight.
Bethlehem will play in Averill Park and Mohonasen will host Guilderland on Friday Dec. 8.
