VOORHEESVILLE – The Blackbirds won their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 27, by beating Ichabod Crane in a game that was closer than the 47-36 score.
Olivia Barringer led Voorheesville with 14 points in the Colonial Council matchup, while two teammates chipped in seven each – Sydney Salerno and Rebecca Clair.
Sophomore standout Madison Graham had 17 for the Riders to lead all scorers.
Claire Reilly and Morgan Keith had five each for Voorheesville and Emily Burke and Claudia Reilly had four. Leah Weber chipped in a point to round out the scoring for the Blackbirds.
Sophomore Riley Paul had six for the Riders while Ama Boham had five and Abigail Grace chipped in four.
Voorheesville will play at Watervliet and Ichabod Crane will host Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Friday, Dec. 1.
