Class AA Super Bowl rematch between Shaker and Saratoga highlights 2016 local high school football schedule

CAPITAL DISTRICT — A Week 6 game between Shaker and Saratoga Springs highlights the 2016 Section 2 football schedule for Albany County teams.

The two schools meet on the gridiron for the first time since last November’s Class AA final in Week 6 of the 2016 season Oct. 7 in Saratoga Springs. Saratoga defeated Shaker 19-14 to win the Section 2 title last year.

Other highlights in this year’s football schedule include the annual Colonie Cup game between Colonie and Shaker in Week 3, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk hosting defending Section 2 Class B champion Schuylerville in Week 2 and Guilderland visiting Shenendehowa in Week 7.

Here are the schedules for Shaker, Colonie, Christian Brothers Academy, Bethlehem, Guilderland, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk and Voorheesville:
