Editor, The Spotlight:
I write to express my sincere thank you to the residents of Bethlehem for their support of my candidacy to become Bethlehem’s next Highway Superintendent. I am gratified and humbled by the overwhelming support I received on Election Day and I pledge to devote all of my energies, skills and talents to assure that our town’s Highway Department is efficiently and effectively lead. I am looking forward to January 1, when I will officially take the helm of this important town Department.
I also want to express my appreciation to my fellow candidates who also sought this elected position – Frank Zeoli, Howard Hyer and Terry Ritz. Seeking election is a humbling experience and one that involves hard work, determination, perseverance and a thick skin. Each one of us made a decision to put ourselves out in the public domain to seek this office – and for this reason — I have the utmost respect and admiration for my colleagues and I salute each one of them for their efforts.
Now that the election is over, I look forward to moving forward and working closely with Howard and Terry, who both hold important positions in our town government. My priority above all else will be to do everything I can to assure that the Highway Department is exceptional in all respects – in the services it provides to our community and in the work that it focuses on.
Finally, I want to say a special thank you to those of you in our community – old friends as well as supporters who have become close friends and mentors – I greatly appreciate your guidance and belief in me. I also want to say thank you to my family – my wife Joanne and our four children – who worked tirelessly alongside me since I decided to run in June – it was a great and unifying family experience.
I look forward to serving our community as Bethlehem’s next Highway Superintendent.
