Editor, The Spotlight:
As a frequent user of the Rail Trail, and one of its stewards, I’d like to bring an issue to the attention of dog walkers who use the trail.
With the melting snow, it’s much more apparent that many users are not picking up after their dogs. When the trail was just a path through the woods, there was less concentrated use by walkers, runners, xc skiers and snowshoers. Now that more and more sections are opening, the trail is seeing a significant increase in usage.
I’d like to remind all dog owners to please remove dog waste so that they don’t inadvertently spoil the trail for others.
