Editor, The Spotlight:
The Bethlehem community was the big winner at the BC March Madness Basketball game on Friday, March 1. More than $5,000 was raised which will be used to award classroom innovation grants, sponsor community events, and manage scholarships through the Bethlehem Central Community Foundation (BCCF).
The Board of BCCF would like to thank all who participated, especially: the players representing every school in the district; referees Superintendent Douglas, Packy McGraw, Wil vonWedel and Chuck Clas; announcers Bobby Trosset and Brian Rhatigan; student singers; the Hooligans pep band; student volunteers; and the hundreds of children and adults who came out to enjoy a great evening.
Highlights of the night included a flash mob/dance party, free shot frenzy, and students singing the national anthem and “Some Nights.” In between all that fun, four teams of BC staff played both a wacky and a more competitive basketball game.
