TED Talk Discussion:
Procrastination Thursday
Enjoy discussing books and ideas, but short on time? Welcome to our new TED Talks Discussion Series.
Join us for a self-contained, bite-sized discussion on the fourth Thursday of each month. We’ll watch one or more short TED talks at the beginning of the session, and then explore the topic as a group.
This month, we’re talking about procrastination — productivity buster or route to creativity? We’ll see what some of the world’s foremost thinkers have to say — and then what you have to say.
Registration is required: online or by calling 518-810-0314. Program starts at 6:30 p.m.

Capital District Genealogical Society: Patching Families Together
Through Land Records
When genealogists hit brick walls it’s not fun. Land records can provide the clues necessary to put stymied research on track again.
This presentation will provide examples of how relationships can be gleaned using deeds, bounty lands (lands granted to veterans of all the country’s early wars up to 1855) and land grants. In addition, platting — drawn-to-scale maps showing the divisions of a piece of land — will be discussed as a means of creating more leads to investigate.
Presented by Tina Post. Program starts at 1 p.m.
