What music are you listening to these days?
Lately, I have been listening to a lot of new country music, like Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. But I like everything from bluegrass to jazz to rock and roll.
What are you reading?
My summer goal is to finish the “Game of Thrones” series – I am on book three, “A Storm of Swords.” On a daily basis, I try to read as much local, national and world news as possible.
What are you watching on TV?
I just finished watching the third season of “Orange Is the New Black” on Netflix. So good! My guilty pleasure on television is “Say Yes to the Dress!” on TLC.
What was the last movie you saw, and what did you think?
“San Andreas,” the new mega-earthquake thriller. It was a nail-biter, and honestly made me a little nervous to visit the West Cost!
One person living or dead you would like to meet and why?
I would have liked to have met Hunter S. Thompson, because he is one of my literary heroes and would have been such a riot to hang out with.
Describe your dream vacation.
I am looking forward to spending my vacation time camping this year. I am happy anywhere there is a lake to swim, a fire to sit around and stars to look up at.
What is your favorite hobby?
It’s a tie between reading, writing and listening to live music.
Describe what your last meal would be.
Comfort food! Fried chicken, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese.
What three things would you bring with you to a deserted island?
SPF 30 sunblock, a case of bottled water and a Swiss Army knife. I burn easily and am very practical!

I lived in East Los Angeles for two years – so mi Espanol es muy bien.
