What are you listening to these days?
These days, I am listening to Pandora. My favorite Pandora playlists are Disney songs and Broadway show tunes. The Disney playlist is great because I know all the songs and anyone I know can easily sing along to the classic songs. The Broadway show tunes playlist is nice because I can learn new music such as Phantom of the Opera and Anything Goes and Chicago, but I can also listen to music I love such as Wicked and Mamma Mia and The Sound of Music.
What are you reading?
Currently, I am reading the book Gone Girl. As soon as I finish reading this great book, I hope to see the movie. I am also taking my time reading Syd Field’s Screenplay: The Fundamentals of Screenwriting. The book is teaching me a lot about not only how to write a screenplay, but the basics of writing any long story such as a novel.
What are you watching on TV?
I have not watched much TV lately, but in the evenings I watch HGTV with my family, enjoying shows such as Property Brothers and Flip or Flop and House Hunters and Fixer Upper. When I watch Netflix, I watch only a few shows – How I Met Your Mother and Blue Bloods and Psych.
One person living or dead you would like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Audrey Hepburn because she is a woman of grace and humility. She grew up poor during World War II, raised a family while being a movie star, and ended her life doing work with UNICEF in very poor communities of the world. Her life story is a great example of how many women should live their lives. She never got wrapped up in the fame and she always stayed true to her values. I would ask her how she stayed true to her values while being in the film business and what made her decide to start doing so much volunteer work and what it was like working with so many famous actors such as Gregory Peck.
What was the last movie you saw?
The last movie I saw was Barefoot, a movie about a misunderstood girl in a psychiatric hospital and a man who does not meet his family’s expectations.
What three things would you bring with you to a desert island?
My fully charged laptop, printed copy of my first novel I wrote, and my dog Jack.
