Colonie police arrested Craig R. Tarbox for felony sexual abuse in the first degree after a month-long investigation into his alleged sexual contact with a 7-year-old boy.
Albany police and State Police assisted with the investigation into Tarbox’s alleged actions. Tarbox, 55, of 310 Millers Corners in East Greenbush, was previously convicted of sodomy in the second degree in 1985 for a case involving an underage victim, according to authorities.
Tarbox was also charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. As of Friday, June 5, police said there are no other charges pending, but due to the nature of the case and the belief that Tarbox may have victimized other children, police are asking that anyone who may have more information to call the Colonie Police Department at 783-2744, or contact their own departments.
Tarbox was arraigned in Colonie Justice Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail. He will appear Monday, June 8, at 6 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
