Guilderland police stopped a car for traveling 12 mph over the speed limit on Western Avenue and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen.
Police stopped David A. Curran, 17, of 2460 Western Ave., in Altamont, for speeding on Saturday, March 29, around 1:30 a.m., and discovered the 2009 Nissan Versa was reported stolen to the Watervliet Police Department on Thursday, March 27, morning. Curran allegedly gave police a false name and birth date.
Curran was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a felony, and criminal impersonation in the second degree. He was remanded to Albany County jail on $5,000 bail.
Two passengers were also arrested, with one allegedly falsely identifying himself to police.
Police arrested Ernest M. Pinsonneault, 19, of 134 6th Ave. in Troy, and charged him with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a felony, and criminal impersonation in the second degree. Police said Pinsonneault also had a warrant out of Rensselaer Court for violating his probation. He was remanded to Albany County jail on $20,000 bail.
Police arrested Joshua K. Geier, 23, of 461 Route 146, Building 5, Apartment 205, in Altamont, and charged him with felony criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
