The Colonie Police Department is investigating a robbery at a Best Western Hotel on Tuesday, Feb. 12, they believe is related to an armed robbery at the same location on Thursday, Jan. 31, police said.
Two suspects entered the Best Western lobby at 200 Wolf Road in Colonie and confronted the two employees, who were forced to lie on the floor. One of the suspects made the desk clerk open the cash drawer and give them approximately $440, police said. There was no weapon involved and neither employee needed medical attention. The suspects were last seen fleeing on foot in the parking lot of the hotel.
The hotel was also robbed on Thursday, Jan. 31, where one of the two suspects displayed a grey-colored semi-automatic handgun, though no shots were fired and there were no injuries, police said. Police said they believe the robberies are related and one of the two suspects from the first robbery was recognized by the same desk clerk that was robbed in the second robbery.
The first suspect is described as a black male in his early 20’s to early 30’s, 5’8’’ to 5’10’’, 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and sneakers. The second suspect is described as a black male in his early 20’s to early 30’s, 5’8’’ to 5’11’’, 150 to 180 pounds, wearing a blue or grey-hooded sweatshirt and may have been wearing sunglasses.
