A man and a woman from Saugerties were arrested by state police after one was caught driving a stolen vehicle in the Town of Bethlehem.
Police said Elijah Gray, 44, was stopped on the thruway for speeding on Monday, May 21, at 3:45 a.m. when he allegedly provided a false name to police. It was soon discovered Gray was driving with a suspended license and the 2008 Doge Nitro he was driving was reported stolen out of Poughkeepsie.
Gray was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a felony. He was also charged with criminal impersonation, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
A passenger in the car, Earline M. Bullock, 36 of Saugerties, was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility on $ 20,000 bail pending further court action.
