Two Spa City residents, one of them an employee of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, were arrested on drug charges last night after police raided a Leonard Road residence and allegedly found crack cocaine.
Police charged Janel M. Sweet, 30, and Justin R. Moran, 31, both of Leonard Road, with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony, and the misdemeanors of criminal possession of hypodermic needles and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. They were also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because children were in the home, police said.
Police said Moran is a 6-year employee of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, and has been on involuntary medical leave since Jan. 19 of this year.
Both Sweet and Moran were arraigned and remanded to the Saratoga County jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond. They are scheduled to reappear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
