A crash between an SUV and a school bus this morning injured three students.
Colonie police said that at about 10:42 a.m. on Albany Shaker Road, near the airport, a 2006 Honda CRV operated by Steven P. Amowitz, 54, of Round Lake, crossed over into the incoming lane and stuck a school bus carrying Cohoes High School students.
The SUV rolled over off the side of the road. Police said it appears Amowitz had a medical episode but he did not appear to be injured in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital by relatives.
Three students sustained minor injuries, police said. The bus driver, Melissa Banaszewski, 37, of Clifton Park, was transported to Albany Medical Center to be evaluated for her injuries, which police said were not life threatening.
