Charges have been filed against a driver whose October car crash resulted in the death of his passenger.
Ryan F. Newman, 27, of Greenville, was charged yesterday with criminally negligent homicide, a felony. Newman was behind the wheel on the evening of Oct. 5 on Old Niskayuna Road near Runway Avenue in Latham when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. His passenger, Jeffery Bogardus, 39, of Colonie, died in the accident.
Newman was also charged with reckless driving, speeding and unsafe passing. He was arraigned in Colonie court and released on bail.
