COLONIE — The second annual Wings and Wheels at the Hangar at 743 coupled classic and collector cars with classic and collector airplanes.
On display at the hangar along the backside of Albany International Airport off Albany Shaker Road was an FG-1D Corsair, a T6 Texan, an A6 Zero and a TBM-3E Avenger. A P1 Mustang Bomber, owned by Dr. Robert Cecil, flew in for a guest appearance.
Attendees also got up close to a McLaren sports car, a Caterham dragster and a host of other cars and trucks made by Lotus, Ram, Porsche and others.
There were also vendors on hand, helicopter rides offered and HUMMER rides available.
The Hangar at 743 is home to the Warbird Factory and the Prescott Foundation. Its mission, and that of its founder and president, David Prescott, is to “preserve, inform, educate and honor the past by providing a living history of WWII aircraft and artifacts.”
