SLINGERLANDS — Local law enforcement quickly apprehended two Troy men who allegedly burglarized an Orchard Street home on Wednesday, July 18.

Jevon I. Johnson, 18, and Le-Tae D. Well, 21, were arrested in Troy by the city’s police department after their silver pick-up truck was identified as matching the vehicle that fled a home burglary in Bethlehem.

According to Bethlehem police, the two suspects entered the home and attempted to steal property. When confronted by someone in the home, at least one of the suspects brandished what was described as a semi-automatic firearm. The two left the home with an undisclosed amount of money. The victim at the residence was uninjured during the incident.

Both Wells and Johnson were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court with felony counts of first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and first-degree burglary. They were each remanded to the Albany County jail without bail. A preliminary hearing was set for Monday, July 23.

The joint investigation into this case is continuing with the Troy Police Department and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision-Parole. Anyone with information in regards to this case is asked to contact Bethlehem police at (518) 439-9973 or anonymous tips can also be submitted to Capital Region Crime Stoppers at capitalregioncrimestoppers.com or by downloading the free P3 Tips app to any IOS or Android device.
