Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to join us for this year’s Crossings 5K Challenge & Kids Runs on Sunday, September 24, at the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center located at 30 Aviation Road in Colonie. All proceeds benefit the Colonie Youth Center’s scholarship assistance program, which helps to make our Ciccotti Center memberships and school-age childcare programs available to all families.
Now in its fourteenth year, the Crossings 5K Challenge & Kids Runs have become a true community day as well as a favorite venue for families and individuals of all ages who enjoy staying active. Come to run or walk, and stay for music, refreshments and awards!
The 5K course, which starts and ends behind the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center, runs completely inside the beautiful Crossings of Colonie Park. The Kids Competitive 1 Mile and 1/4 Mile Fun Run are held immediately following the 5K. Our Kids Zone will be back with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained and some of our sponsors will be on hand to share information about the services they provide within our community.

Registration for all races is now open online at zippyreg.com! The 5K entry fee is just $22 if registered by September 20 (dri-fit event shirts while supplies last) so be sure to register early! Day-of registration is $25 and begins at 8 a.m. The 5K Race/Walk will start at 10 a.m. with awards to follow. Bib chip race timing is by ARE event productions.
Our Kids Zone will open at 9 a.m. with a host of activities and the Kids Runs will start at approximately 10:45 a.m. Children through age 13 can register for a 1/4 mile fun run or a competitive 1 mile run. The competitive registration fee is $10 and includes a free short sleeve cotton event T-shirt while supplies last. The fun run is FREE with the option of including an event T-shirt for a $10 donation while supplies last. Every child that registers for either of the Kids Runs will be entered in our drawing to win a pool party for up to 20 guests at the Ciccotti Center. Register today!
