BETHLEHEM An innovative new charging station at the library is providing visitors a safe means to charge their devices.
The charging station contains 10 metal lockers. “Each operates like a safe in a hotel room, with a four digit code only that person knows,” said Geoff Kirkpatrick, director of the Bethlehem Public Library.
As of Monday, Dec. 14, the station was up and running at the hallway entrance to the library, on the Delaware Avenue side.
Once a combination is set, visitors can charge their phones, smartphones and other devices while they are safely locked in one of ten individual lockers, two of which are large enough to hold tablets.
Three cords come in each locker
