The Albany County budget is approved despite reservations over 11th-hour additional expenditures

ALBANY COUNTY On Monday, Dec. 7, Albany County lawmakers approved an approximately $610 million budget for the coming year. Although that budget contains no tax levy increase for the second consecutive year, legislators from both parties were unhappy with certain changes that they said leaders of the majority party surreptitiously made to the executive budget after it was released by County Executive Dan McCoy in early September. Several legislators said they felt that initial budget proposal was superior to the one that was finally approved this month.
