A trash truck driver somehow escaped serious injury following a rollover crash in the Town of New Scotland. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office reports that Vincent Quinn was driving the truck during the morning of Oct. 19 on a steep portion near 71 Cass Hill Road, when he lost control on a curve, causing the truck to roll over. The truck, which is owned by Robert Wright Disposal, then left the roadway, hit several trees, and slid down an embankment before coming to a stop. Quinn escaped serious injury, but was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Due to the location where the truck came to rest, responders had to cut the body from the chassis to remove it from the area. Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Onesquethaw Fire Department. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
