Candidates running for office in the Town of Bethlehem will meet on Monday, Oct. 24, at Bethlehem Town Hall, for a candidate forum sponsored by the Albany County League of Women Voters and The Spotlight.
Candidates running for the offices of receiver of taxes, the two open Town Board seats, town supervisor and for representation of the Albany County Legislature 36th District will all be invited to participate.
The evening’s events will begin at 6 p.m. Shortly thereafter, receiver of taxes candidates will have the opportunity to make statements to the audience.
At 6:30 p.m., candidates for Town Board will begin their debate. As in past League-Spotlight events, the candidates will be given time for opening and closing statements and also answer questions put forward by the audience.
Candidates for the office of supervisor will follow the same format at 7:30 p.m., and Albany County Legislature candidates will begin their portion of the forum at 8:15 p.m. The event is scheduled to end at 9 p.m.
Members of the audience will be able to supply questions to candidates for individual offices by submitting them on index cards. Spotlight Assistant Managing Editor Charles Wiff will moderate.
The Spotlight will provide full coverage of the event in its Nov. 2 edition, as well as online at www.spotlightnews.com. Video from the event will be posted on the web.
As in past League-Spotlight events, campaigning in the event venue is prohibited, and only accredited media will be allowed to take audio, video or still photography recordings.
Bethlehem Town Hall is located at 445 Delaware Ave., Delmar.
