The Town of New Scotland Republican Committee has announced its slate of candidates for this year’s town-wide elections.
According to a release issued June 17, the committee’s search took place during the past several months and focused on those individuals that shared core beliefs of fiscal responsibility, transparency and ethical conduct.
Citing the need to restore such fiscal responsibility, the New Scotland Republican Committee has endorsed Tim Danz and Tim Stanton for Town Council. Each of these individuals has an exceptional background and has demonstrated leadership, initiative and dedication through their experience and community involvement.
As a Committee, we talked with and interviewed a number of individuals regarding all of the open positions up for election this year. However, in the end, we decided to focus our energy and efforts on the Town Board seats. We are extremely pleased that Tim Danz and Tim Stanton, both highly-qualified and successful business owners, agreed to run as candidates. We believe that a message of fiscal responsibility will resonate with the people at this critical time, said New Scotland Republican Chairman Lance Luther.
The New Scotland Republican Committee has also endorsed Margaret Adkins for reelection to the position of Town Justice. Judge Adkins has served in that capacity since 2003 and has also been assigned as Acting City Court Judge in the cities of Albany, Rensselaer, and Troy, as well as an Acting Village Justice in Voorheesville.
`One rarely finds a candidate as qualified as Margaret and we are fortunate as a Town to have someone with her dedication, service and experience as a judge,` said Luther.
